Afterschool Alliance Celebrated "Lights On Afterschool" on October 22, 2009
The 10th annual nationwide celebration of afterschool programs was held on October 22, 2009 in more than 7,500 communities throughout the country. Americans urged leaders at Lights On Afterschool rallies to increase support for the afterschool programs that children and families need. The events gave youth a chance to showcase the skills they learn and talents they develop at their afterschool programs, and to send the message that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs.
